Oh How I Miss You

First off, this video would not even be within the realm of possibility without the sleepy, song selecting Alison Cameron. After the rather disappointing realization that we would not attend the Walkmen - Black Keys concert in Detroit tonight we opted to smash on chicken pizza, watch horrible television and make a short. The original idea involving this footage was thrown out the window once we noticed the impact it created by just keeping it simple. I could not ask for more from an actress.

Shot this the other day while lying around doing nothing but listen to Yann Tiersen. Just decided to pick up the camera and frame things for fun…eventually pressing the red button a few times. I had no intentions to edit it that day, because as you will see I was fairly comfortable lying on my futon…today I realized I still hadn’t used this footage so I threw this little thing together. The music is Les Grandes Marees by Yann Tiersen.

Two little sound experiments from the other day. I call it “video music” because all the sounds you hear are sampled from a direct video source. In both of these videos all the sound is taken from skateboarding footage I have on my computer. I like these for the fact that they prove to me it’s possible, although I see a much more complex approach being necessary the next time I mess with this video music idea…

Had to help Bri make a video for his English class today. These kids are hilarious. Way to take a lame assignment and cheese it up just enough that it’s actually worth watching. Let’s just hope it’s enough for him to pass the class.

“You wanna help me with those…service hours?”

Screen capture to quicktime! Ha, this is probably such an old feature to some, but I just learned it and had a ton of fun dorking with it. This is a video of me turning on and off layers in a photoshop image I created where I altered a picture of the Kodak Brownie 8mm camera my Grandma gave me for Christmas. It once belonged to my Grandpa who bought it while he was posted in Germany around 1950.
